Paleo Snacks on the Go

About a month ago, I was starting to get sick of the paleo diet. And that’s because this huge snack craving hit me really hard, and I couldn’t figure out what sort of snacks to make that are paleo-compliant – or at least, close to being compliant!

I was interested in making some paleo snacks on the go because the nature of my work requires me to zip around a lot. Anyway, I did some searching and stumbled across a set of cookbooks that contain plenty of paleo-compliant recipes. The healthy quick paleo snacks in the books are awesome! The books are downloadable by the way, so if you’re interested, just click on this link.

And now…I would like to show you how to make two paleo-compliant snacks which I like a lot. Both recipes are pretty much fuss-free to prepare, so please give them a shot. I’m sure you’re going to enjoy these paleo snacks on the go.

1)  Paleo Diet Chocolate Nut Crumble

Go grab these ingredients:

2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 1 cup of almond meal, 2/2 cup of roughly chopped pecans, 2/3 cup of roughly chopped walnuts, 15 dates (small)

Preparing the snack:

Preheat your fan-forced oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Place dates in the microwave and heat them up until soft, which should take about 30 seconds.

Throw the already softened dates in a bowl and then add in the cocoa powder together with almond meal. Grab a fork and mix the ingredients thoroughly. Next, fold through the pecans and walnuts.

Cover baking tray with a sheet of baking paper. Shape small portions of the mixture into the form of a crumble. Put them on the baking paper and proceed to bake the crumble pieces until the top portion becomes golden brown, which would take about 6 to 8 minutes.

These crumbles are yummy, healthy quick paleo snacks and the above recipe is enough to serve 4. The next recipe is one of my favorite paleo snacks with almond butter. Check it out!

2)  Paleo Diet Cherry Balls

Go grab these ingredients:

3 tablespoons of almond butter, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 cup of shredded coconut, ½ cup of walnuts, 20 chopped & de-pipped fresh cherries.

Preparing the snack:

Preheat fan-forced oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Drop all ingredients in a bowl, combine well and then shape them into multiple balls. Put baking paper on the baking tray, and arrange the balls on top.

Bake until the balls turn light brown, and that would take about 4 to 8 minutes. Please note that the balls will turn out a little soft after baking, therefore you should put the baked cherry balls in the refrigerator and allow them to cool properly before consumption.

Last week, I read a survey which was conducted by Paleo Health and Fitness Publication and it was jam-packed with so much interesting information! The survey involved a total of 1000 paleo diet followers from countries such as the United States, Australia, and Britain.

According to the survey, approximately 30% of the followers almost gave up the diet at some point due to the fact that they were unable to put together healthy quick paleo snacks on a regular basis. This indicates that snacks are very much valued by followers of the paleo diet. In fact, most of them enjoy munching on a variety of paleo snacks with almond butter as one of the primary ingredients.

The survey also indicated that approximately 72% percent followers are interested in learning as much as they can about making paleo snacks on the go using nutrient-dense ingredients. Such large percentage shows that many paleo diet followers out there are busy and are constantly on the move, thus the remarkably large desire to learn the process of creating healthy quick paleo snacks.

I can relate to that. I’m a pretty busy person with a job that calls for frequent travelling. As such, I’m always on the lookout for some paleo snack recipes that don’t take too much time to prepare. I remember being at an airport once, and was craving for some paleo snacks with almond butter.

Such snacks were not available at the airport so to satisfy my cravings; I opted to break the paleo diet rule and ate a couple bars of chocolate peanut butter. I shouldn’t have done that I know, but I simply couldn’t help it! I wish I had brought some paleo snacks on the go, unfortunately at the time; I didn’t have the recipes to make them.

So here’s my advice to those who travel frequently…Please take the time to amass as many relevant recipes as you can. There are no food stores out that cater specifically to followers of the Paleolithic diet. We do not have that luxury, so we need to collect as many recipes as we can, and then prepare the snacks at home. Put the snacks in a container and store in the fridge.

Before you leave the house, take out the snack and bring them along with you. This approach is highly recommended because we want to avoid eating store-bought snacks, most of which contain unhealthy processed ingredients. Paleo snacks on the go prepared ourselves are significantly superior, health-wise. Consuming highly processed snacks may cause a lot of harm to our body, particularly in the long run. Please heed this very simple advice, and also do the best you can to keep your physique in tip-top condition.
